Hi just want to go on Record and tell anyone that's reading this. The Food and Drug Administrati let's all kinds of products and Medicines that aren't 100% safe pass there safety evaluation.
They don't even come close to OSHA
standards. OSHA holds safety Standards a lot higher then the FDA does.
They work for The American people and workers keep them safe so then go home to their loved ones. Americans are safer with OSHA.
Are we going to pick one and Bet Your Life on it then trust OSHA. not the FDA.
The 3M 8511 N95 is approved by OSHA . Which sets a lot higher standard on safty than the FDA ever will. So be smart and pick the division that is for the American people and worker. Not for all the pharmaceutic-al companies because they get a kickback. //@mwang: N95 is N95. Get it while you can, or you will regret later that you wasted your time doing too much research. //@anonymous: CDC recommendation: https://www.cdc.gov/niosh/npptl/topics/respirators/disp_part/respsource3surgicaln95.html?from=singlemessage
//@anonymous: What would you recommend after your extensive research? //@Anonymous: Just wanna mention? I did quite some research recently? this type of mask is more for dust protection, not the best for (corona)virus protection.

The 8511 n95 mask is a breathable mask meaning you don't blow your hot air in the mask. So it doesn't fog up or get wet from your breath. The 8511 is equipped with a exhaust valve on the front of the Mask. There for keeping the mask dry for longer use. It does catch small particles and it also adds protection against Aerosoles and harmful chemicals. I know this because I am in the construction trades I use this mask all the time around dust and chemicals so I know it's better than anything out there besides a respirator. So it's a MASK you can wear and be safe if you wear it properly. And it will keep you 95% safe if your passing through a contaminated area or through a crowd of sick people.
But its not as safe percentage-wise, If you or working around people or places, were your are continuously exposed to the virus or constantly Hanging around friends in crowns of your friends or other people that are wearing mask also, especially for long periods of time.
It's good idea to keep yourself distance from other people as much as possible at least change your mask once every 8 hours and don't forget to wash your hands constantly. Distance yourself from crowds of people . Even if you have a mask, you're life is in danger and the lives of other people that are around you.
So do the the right thing and go home and save lives you or someone you know our love, could be next. The 8511 N95 is a great mask. //@anonymous: So .. what is a good mask then?
//@anonymous: n95 means it can protect >95% 0.3uM airborne particles, no matter what particle it is. 1860 /1870 has another layer of FDA approval. However, other N95s are sufficient for the common crowd. //@Anonymous: Just wanna mention? I did quite some research recently? this type of mask is more for dust protection, not the best for (corona)virus protection.

N95 is a standard. All n95 mask have the same filter capacity. Surgical mask has a special feature to ensure nothing dropping from mask. This feature is to protect the patients, not person who wear it. So for virus protection, n95 standard mask is the same.

I wrote the first post, yes. It's better than not wearing any mask, but here is the cDC recommendation? If you don't want to read the detail, go for n95 1860.

It was $13.99 last week. They raised the price and then lowered it claimed to be on sale. Shame!

Better than not wearing. While we appreciate your research, so far there is no direct proof that a mask itself can completely prevent the coronavirus. //@Anonymous: Just wanna mention?
