Not sure about this model. I just got a OralB pro 5000 (bought it while it was in stock last week) and it is awesome. It feels and brushes like my dental hygienist is doing it for me. I paid $30 after rebates, etc.

They make it difficult to replace the battery so you have to buy a new one. The motor and electronics can last much longer. I think they also use NiCd batteries in their cheaper toothbrushes which have memory effect. It probably cost them a dollar or two to manufacture and you pay more than 20 times. Same goes for the brush heads which is why there are so many knock offs.
