My last 2 SanDisk purchases locked themselves into 'write-protected' mode with no hope of writing back to the disk. After researching the issue, it seems that SanDisk has USB disks that lock themselves up after heating up. The data is not lost but the disk is useless. The low price is not worth it.

This device runs hot especially in writing, and speed is throttled significantly. It reads fast.
