Google Play Movies is offering upgrading past purchases to 4K UHD for FREE. Exclusions might apply. See google support.

On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Play Movies & TV app Play Movies.
Tap Library.
At the top, tap Upgraded to 4K.
The upgraded movie will automatically play in the highest quality available for your device.

Upgrades for eligible movies are automatic. There is nothing to do. Directions are simple how to filter for them.
