Iced coffee isn't simply refrigerated brewed coffee. It is coffee that sits in cold water for 12-24 hours. It requires more coffee grounds than brewed coffee but makes a very good cup of non-bitter coffee. The reason you would want to buy this is that you really want to stir up the ground coffee in the cold water and then have a handy way to separate it. the french press like screen on this maker is a great way to separate the grounds. Otherwise you would have to slowly pour the concoction (water + grounds) into a pour over maker or something to filter the grounds out which is very slow -- (I know -- Ive done it). //@Anonymous: Why not? //@Anonymous: Why do you need a ice coffee maker to make ice coffee?

*Two lids, one for the fridge overnight, one with a plunger to press down the coffee grinds in the morning.
*Add cold water to coffee grinds, keep in fridge overnight, press and pour.
