You need to shake the filter well and reattach //@anonymous: I bought it a month ago for the same price assuming it’s a good deal. Please don’t buy this product. The filter don’t work after few days of use. The water doesn’t pass through the filter and takes few hours to have the filter water. It’s happening with all the filters. I used PUR in the past but this particular one got some potential issue... not sure whether the seller is selling a defect piece or this model got some design issue. Overall I don’t recommend at all to anyone.

We’ve been using this exact one for the past 5-6 years, zero complaints!

If you want to save money and drink quality filtered water, you need to spend some time to shake the filter, sit the water to let air bubble out, and let gravity do the rest. It's a good choice for small family. Otherwise, just buy bottled water or install a tap filter system. I have compared different gravity water filters and so far I am still using PUR 18-cup dispenser.

Yes, I use the 18-cup dispenser for over 20 years. Basically it has the same design. I have bought one last year from Target as a backup, just in case my current one stop working/cracks/leaks. //@Anonymous: Have you ever used this particular model? I suggest you buy one and give it a try. //@anonymous: Do not put tap water directly to the PUR system. Let the water sit in a gallon bottle water tank for hours. The small air bubble will be gone and that will not clog the filter. I have used PUR system since 1997, more than 20 years.

The PUR system despenser has been like that for more than 20 years. If it is that troublesome, it couldn't have survive the market competition. I found it is fairly easy to use and maintain. As I mention in the other post, sit the water to let go the small air bubble while water just came out of the tap. Clean the inside with wet paper tower every month or two. //@Anonymous: I don't thing the filter has design issue, but the tank. There maybe air pressure built up inside of the lower tank to prevent higher tanker water flow in. //@Anonymous: Don't buy. The filter has design issue. Easily got clogged.

7 years. Do they have this model before 7 years? Or, you bought the best one they produced? Check amazon review, you will find how many people complain about this clog issue. I got one about 2 months ago. I pre-prepared the column according to the instruction. The water in the upper blue container took days to completely flow into the bottom container. I used several dispenser/filter before and never had this kind problems. //@Anonymous: We've been using this for 7+ years without any (clogging) issues. Soak the filters for 2-3 hours prior to use, you won't have any air-clogs. Make sure to clean the insides of the tap every year, you should be fine.

Y do we need this . What will happen if you drink without filtering. I am drinking for almost 42 years without any issues.
