It's a vacuum, has to be engineered to be able to take at least low speed med force impacts. It's not a mercury light bulb. You sound like you'd never used a vacuum.

I was planning to buy one, but hearing about the low quality product discouraged me from doing so. //@anonymous: Thin flimsy plastic for the body, cracked mine in several places hitting the bed frame trying to vacuum under the bed. It's about 0.5mm thin plastic that could be punctured with the finger nail. Nice Dyson design, bad execution. Cheap plastic, ugly molded parts out of Malaysia. They need a decent plastic molder. These people have no idea how to process plastic.
