No, I don't think so. It's not going to work that way. The keyboard is just 'not lit' while it is not used. //@Anonymous: Note the keyboard is French, but since it's soft keyboard, I assume it can be easily changed to standard US keyboard.

Just did a little bit more research on this. Look like the keyboard layout can't be changed. So stay away from it, unless you can live with a French Keyboard.
