You need to refresh your knowledge about how those smart thermostats work and how they help you save money. //@Anonymous: Is this thing really worth $190? I mean - it's a thermostat. Are we too lazy to set a schedule nowadays? Oh yeah, I can sit on my couch and say Alexa, it's a bit warm in here, turn my thermostat down 2 degrees. I'm in - NOT.

That's because you didn't hook up the "C" wire. Most WiFi thermostats on the market rely on the "C" wire to provide power to it. Nest is good enough to build an internal battery that can serve as a backup, but it's not designed to be used as the primary source of power. //@Anonymous: Be careful about Nest .It depends on its internal battery to work. Mine couldn't connect to WIFI after 1 year since the battery drained and cannot recharge to original level.

You can recharge it with a USB cable if nest won't charge on the low voltage wire //@anonymous: Of cause, like replacing battery for iphone //@Anonymous: Can you replace the battery? //@Anonymous: I did. They don't support replacement if it is battery issue. //@Anonymous: you can reach out to Nest customer support to address the issue, can you? //@Anonymous: Be careful about Nest .It depends on its internal battery to work. Mine couldn't connect to WIFI after 1 year since the battery drained and cannot recharge to original level.
