WD fail very quickly. There is no way to recover. Because, they fuse circuit board with usb port and also ROM designed for that model only. One must have same board and swap ROM chip (hot gun swap).
One word, once WD fails, data will never be recovered.

4TB SSD costs $1500. what are you talking about?! //@Anonymous: I would wait until it becomes around $100, otherwise SSD is a better choice. //@Anonymous: Bought this 2 years ago on Black Friday about $120. A bit surprise to see the 8TB external hard drives are still maintaining their prices for so long
