I have purchased about 8 mugs so far during the past 2 years, for personal use and sent out as gifts for friends. Clean it after each use with brush, and white vinegar every another day. Still found the mold. Never complaint on this, but as you raised this issue here, I would mention this too. //@anonymous: Very good mug.
But, issues:
1. The plastic cap and ring easily got black spots on them - don't know if they are mold. Not possible to rinse them off. And no replacement sold.
Probably nned to buy another mug.
2. Recent purchase: very very strong plastic smell came from the plastic caps ( bought 3 recently, all have same issue).

Still recommend.

It's very unlikely this company would sell a product like this, with so many users that spontaneously grows mold! I think every similar products, irrespect of the mfg eventually turns or change color after extensive use. I suggest washing, soaking frequently and using raw vinegar to clean with to help maintain it, however, it still will grow discoloration.
