I didn’t even post the original and laughed. Some don’t understand sarcasm. //@anonymous: My understanding is that for security reasons it will not unlock the door. Imagine you're away from home and someone shouting or not too loud say "Alexa unlock the door". The echo mic picks up the command and unlock the door... //@anonymous: Can you open the door by shouting "Alexa open the front door" outside the door?

yes, you can. i have 2 echo dots side by side. i drop into one of them and say "Alexa, open the grasting dasting", the other echo dots picks up the command and opens the garage door. //@Anonymous: Can you open the door by shouting "Alexa open the front door" outside the door?

How different is it from the 3rd generation lock? No Z-wave?
