I personally think apple tags are useless for all practical purposes. It is at best works if it is in the same room as your phone. You move to a different location with as minimum as with 2-3 walls it does not work. I have MacBook Pro M1. Display stopped working just after 1 year. Apple refused to do anything since already exceeded one year, also extended warranty from my credit card does not work since a evalluation from Apple will be reired but Apple said that there are some dent on the lid.

I regret getting the M2 version. I should have bought the M1 Pro version (same amount of ram and disk). It only costs $100 more and the performance is much better.

If 256G was not a single module like M1 Air, this is a great choice, but since it is not, go either m1 air or m1 pro, depending on your needs. I got both, one for my daughter and one for me, and yes, I tried M2 256G and M2 512G, but the former is slow, the latter is too expensive compared to its capability.
