If you check your electric company's website, there's likely a $50-75 discount to get a WiFi thermostat.
You would sign up to have your AC turned down automatically during the hottest afternoons. If you are home, you can simply just turn it back up. However, it keeps empty homes slightly warmer to prevent the burning of diesel, natural gas, etc.
