Why is apple still releasing devices with 8G? Although it's MacOS but 8G is not enough unless you don't run anything else except Safari. What would anyone want need an M2 if only need 8G ram??

Unless you are editing 4k/8k videos, intensive GFX/FX work, or 3d modeling - you don't need more than 8GB with an M chip CPU.

Safari uses 1.2 gb with 10 tabs open. As a daily user of browser i open 20-30 tabs all the same time. Which causes about 4gb. And i can not use excel ,word ,ppt at the same time now or it is very slow. //@anonymous: People are greedy to have more whether they need it or not. //@Anonymous: 8GB will suffice for 98% of desktop users. Samsung recently subtly changed the parts of the 970 EVOs, and as such performance took a small but noticeable hit. Anyone interested should pay close attention to which version they are getting, as the new model does have a new SKU.

A year ago these were $350. Never but these when they first came out. Not worth it.

Crypto ice age coming. Memory and SSD prices will cut in 1/2 within the next 6 months. Check ebay for used memory and SSD’s, they will be a penny per 100M.

I definitely wouldn't buy a huge one like this, but buying some form of PCI gen 4 M.2 now seems very appealing. They so fast! //@Anonymous: A year ago these were $350. Never but these when they first came out. Not worth it.

I doubt that, given the situation of chip shortage and widespread inflation. //@Anonymous: Crypto ice age coming. Memory and SSD prices will cut in 1/2 within the next 6 months. Check ebay for used memory and SSD’s, they will be a penny per 100M.

Now is half a penny per 100M. Will be quarter a penny per 100M by the end of 2023. CPU and memory demand will continue to fall as cypto mining dies down. Forget about AI because there is no such thing. ChatGPT is a fluke as there is no true AI advantage since Deep Blue. Whatever they call AI today is no more than "Automation + Big Data" but calling that AI is total bullshit. https://www.newyorker.com/science/annals-of-artificial-intelligence/there-is-no-ai //@anonymous: I doubt that, given the situation of chip shortage and widespread inflation. //@Anonymous: Crypto ice age coming.
