Don't buy it if you don't need it. I paid ~$130 for a 500G one 5 years ago. It has been collecting dust most of the time since.

most complaints are from 2TB version. it seem 2TB ones got lots of failures. so please check and do more research before purchasing them.

i bought three 4tb and two 2tb of them as a photographer, i fill them on a daily basis....2tb are dead, didnt even make it 6 months, before files went missing or corrupt. two of the 4tb developed same issues just took 9-10 months....sandisk replaced them all, and i sold the new ones they sent me. changed over to a usb-c nvme enclosure and nvme drives, no issues. //@Anonymous: Just because most people bought 2TB version.
