Most of Youtube channels are 720P for HD and nature support of 720P is already called HD projectors for up to 100” screens. There is no practical use for 1080 CAM. Even Zoom only supports 720P with high selective cases for 1080p (event broadcasts).

There's no protective film over the camera on Macbooks. The camera is simply terrible when compared to the selfie camera on a phone. After 25 years of disliking Apple due to their over-pricing, I gave in.
