It’s actualy good enough for daily usage. The watch 4 is faster, with larger screen when you compares but when actually in daily use, not much you would notice.

There are no devices that would guarantee 100% reliability. Create multiple copies, keep them in different locations including cloud storage. If you want to have a single local device consider buying a RAID array. They are much more reliable than individual disks. //@deelz111: it is dangerous to keep all of your data on a single drive...what if this fails? //@Anonymous: Same price for the past month

10tb is too big of a basket to put all your data eggs in. If you really want to, I strongly recommend back up the data in another means, such as writing down the data as 0s and 1s on paper

You don't really buy RAID arrays.. you buy individual drives to build an array. It's generally agreed that buying multiple drives from the same batch is not the best approach because if the batch has issue, all the drives will fail due to the same issue around the same time assuming they all run in the same array. These are white label WD Red drives. I bought two at different times and ran 5 badblock tests and put them in my NAS's RAID 1 array. One has been running for 1 year 24/7 without any issue. The other has been idling as replacement drive so that in case any of my other drives fail, I can resilver the array immediately.

if buying multiple (in case of failure) 0 you are paying a lot of $$$. $$$ wise you would be better off buying dedicated NAS and setting up RAID on it.

Anonymous
Not really. You still need to buy drives for NAS. A lot of people, like me, are buying these to shuck the drives for their NAS which are way cheaper than buying WD Red. This is basically self insurance. That's why I run multiple 24/7 badblocks stress tests on these while they are still within return period. //@deelz111: if buying multiple (in case of failure) 0 you are paying a lot of $$$. $$$ wise you would be better off buying dedicated NAS and setting up RAID on it.

yes, it's NAS ( RAID 5/ RAID 1 ) + 1 ( to mirror) thus this 10 TB is good for backup drive purpose, or store misc items / stuffs or temporary moving huge quantity data. //@Anonymous: Not really.
