why would you need 10 gauge? Almost everything out there is rated 15 amps, 12 gauge will give you 50% more current capacity than 14 but most peoples doesn't even have the need for that.

Wire is 16-Gauge with 3 conductors. 10 amp, 1250 watt.
I don't know about you but I think that's enough for 95+% of my tools (Be it lawn mower, weed eater, chain saw, tree saws etc etc.) I am not running a heater or A/C outdoor so that's enough for me)
