it seems u've never used the voice remote control before. Different than the regular Echo devices that are on all the time, voice remote control requires you to press and hold a button to speak to it. //@Anonymous: voice remote means another "listener" in your home

you are right according to the user manual, but keep in mind that Amazon never says the remote is not sending signal to fire TV while you are not pressing the button... //@Anonymous: it seems u've never used the voice remote control before.
