Bought Lenovo Legion laptop with better GPU and hard drive with same price during Black Friday... Is this really a deal?

I won't buy expensive items like Desktops from Amazon. Risk of their inventory being mixed up with third party sellers at warehouses.

Laptop gpus and desktop gpus are different performance wise since desktop gpus consume way more power therefore provide more performance. You can check some benchmarks for a better comparison. You comparing apple to orange btw //@Anonymous: Bought Lenovo Legion laptop with better GPU and hard drive with same price during Black Friday... Is this really a deal?

Compared with the below "Dell G5 Gaming Desktop (i5-10400F 16GB 512GB GTX 1660 Ti) $725", this Amazon desktop "iBUYPOWER Pro Gaming Desktop Element MR 9320 (i7-10700F GTX 1660 Ti 16GB 240GB SSD, 1TB HDD) $1144.99" with only 240gb ssd vs 512gb ssd. Is its CPU i7-10700F worth more than $700 difference than Dell's i5-10400F? (8 vs 6 core both at 2.9GHz, retail price $270 vs $150). Looks like no deal on Amazon one. //@Anonymous: Laptop gpus and desktop gpus are different performance wise since desktop gpus consume way more power therefore provide more performance. Even when Vive/Oculus first came out, this setup was considered low-end for VR. 4 years later, it's not a good deal.

It came out last year, so the people who said it's old are mistaken. However, Ryzen CPUs are still kicking its butt. //@anonymous: Is i5-9400 4 years old? //@Anonymous: Even when Vive/Oculus first came out, this setup was considered low-end for VR. 4 years later, it's not a good deal.

Beware of keyboard issue. The space bar constantly stuck to the side.

For people that want a pre-built, gaming-only computer, you could do a lot worse for $750. Remember you need to pay close to $100 for Windows alone, and if you say you can get your OS cheaper, then clearly you are not the targeted audience. I would however spend extra $30 to get another stick of 8GB ram and stick it in.
Having said that, this is definitely NOT a VR-ready rig despite the name.
