But C?h?i?n?e?s?e tech manufacturers are required by law to assist the C?h?i?n?e?s?e government to obtain consumer data. Why would anyone trust a brand like Lenovo? //@anonymous: Please research the specs of the two before making the comments. The X1 offers a lot more computer than the Mac. //@anonymous: The Mac downstairs was only a few dollars more than this. How can anyone be expected to pay this much for a Lenovo?

Lenovo x1 carbon is pretty good, light and solid - i am using it to prototype small deep learning models
The latest x1 extreme is even nicer - but you need pay between $1,800 and $3,200 for a decent spec.
the only slight cons is the red dot still there making it old-fashioned

Great deal. In for one. A lot of garbage comments. It's the opposite. US govt was caught working with Cisco and Dell to spy on US citizens on the ground that they were looking for terrorists. I worry more about using US tech since I live in US.

I have to respectfully disagree. The reason you hear about it in the U.S. is because of the free and open press. If there were an Edward Snowden in Chiina, you wouldn't even hear about it because the govt would censor it from the news. The U.S. Is not nearly as bad as Chiina about spying on people. //@anonymous: Great deal. In for one. A lot of garbage comments. It's the opposite. Really surprising to see Lenovo trying to peddle their products for over $1000. They should be aiming for the sub-$300 price point.
