Samsung recently subtly changed the parts of the 970 EVOs, and as such performance took a small but noticeable hit. Anyone interested should pay close attention to which version they are getting, as the new model does have a new SKU.

A year ago these were $350. Never but these when they first came out. Not worth it.

Crypto ice age coming. Memory and SSD prices will cut in 1/2 within the next 6 months. Check ebay for used memory and SSD’s, they will be a penny per 100M.

I definitely wouldn't buy a huge one like this, but buying some form of PCI gen 4 M.2 now seems very appealing. They so fast! //@Anonymous: A year ago these were $350. Never but these when they first came out. Not worth it.

I doubt that, given the situation of chip shortage and widespread inflation. //@Anonymous: Crypto ice age coming. Memory and SSD prices will cut in 1/2 within the next 6 months. Check ebay for used memory and SSD’s, they will be a penny per 100M.

Now is half a penny per 100M. Will be quarter a penny per 100M by the end of 2023. CPU and memory demand will continue to fall as cypto mining dies down. Forget about AI because there is no such thing. ChatGPT is a fluke as there is no true AI advantage since Deep Blue. Whatever they call AI today is no more than "Automation + Big Data" but calling that AI is total bullshit. https://www.newyorker.com/science/annals-of-artificial-intelligence/there-is-no-ai //@anonymous: I doubt that, given the situation of chip shortage and widespread inflation. //@Anonymous: Crypto ice age coming. My co-worker was annoyed that his Studio display doesn't have any kind of multi input source support. He basically has to unplug one computer and plug in another. That would be a deal breaker for me. I switch my Dell between a desktop and laptop regularly.

Over priced. Apple refuses to fix interconnectivity issues between MacBooks and 3rd part monitors so they can sell more of these.

While there is a cost aspect of it, there are not that many monitors comparable in quality to this at this price. Dell U4021QW ultrasharp is closest at a $300 cheaper ticket but its nowhere close to this quality on color gamut or brightness not to mention the lack of camera or speakers. The closest is the LG 5K ultrafine but it is of the same price as of today $1299 and its speakers are not upto sample - I have this monitor as well and I know. I am not trying to sell this monitor but slinging mud should be based on facts IMHO.

The LG 5K display is good works well with macbooks and mini and studio and pretty much all macs. wait, it costs the same as the apple studio, guess that does not work for you huh ! //@anonymous: Over priced. It's crazy small for the price, but when you're a professional photographer (on the smaller side) and try editing on an Asus ProArt monitor, the Apple Studio Display is simply the best at color representation. Get an Apple Card and pay monthly using the EDU site for the discount.
