Last year, H&R Block's system crashed, leaving thousands unable to file. Their customer service was no help. I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

I still H&R block because I have for years and they import last years files, allowing me to carry over losses without having to enter everything manually. But if you have the option, I suggest considering another software. Last year was awful. And their customer support is not equipped to do anything other than help you install the software. They can't fix anything and don't care. //@Anonymous: Last year, H&R Block's system crashed, leaving thousands unable to file. Their customer service was no help. I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

Just enter it manually. It's super easy and not worth even asking why if the import doesn't work. //@Anonymous: this year I cannot import 1099 from wealthfront customer service is useless

I’m shocked that this company is still in business after last year’s fiasco. They failed thousands of users, preventing them from submitting their tax returns. Their service is unreliable—use it at your own risk!

The Tax rule does not change, same software and same form can be used for this year. Why does these tax companies fool people to buy new software each year? Just re-use your previous software and adjust the final tax according to 2025 Tax Bracket Table.

I have maybe 1000 trades, usually from mixed lots with multiple bases. I ain't entering that manually. Luckily h&r block interfaces with merril lynch and downloads all of that automatically. //@anonymous: Just enter it manually. If you habe carryovers or anything like that, it won't work. Also, and this should be obvious, many parts of tax law changed. Conteibution limits for 457bs, for example went up. If you put 23000 into a 457b, the older software would say you are payiny a penalty. In 2023 you claimed the ev tax credit via paperwork, in 2024 you got the discount at the point of sale and the dealer had to get the credit, but you still have to do the form. I promise its not the same. It looks like standard deductions changed, the amt thresholds changed, some child tax credits changed... //@anonymous: The Tax rule does not change, same software and same form can be used for this year. TurboTax is far superior than H&R block and also bug free. Without deep discount, nobody should ever look at H&R block
