It really depends on what you plan on using Apple Products for. Personally, I purchased the Air 5th specifically to use Procreate. Before buying it, I tested out various apps and demos but found them to be lacking in brushes and features, and some were difficult to use. Adobe demos, for example, were too expensive at 50 dollars a month. In contrast, Procreate only costs 12.99 for a one-time purchase. They also have a new Procreate Dream for animation coming soon at 9.99 for a one-time purchase. Personally, I prefer one-time purchases over subscriptions. //@Anonymous: i avoid all aPPLE products since those are way overpriced...

Don’t buy. This model will be at most supported to 2026. Newer iOS won’t allow you to install even if you think the device is able to run the new iOS. All relevant apps will die and run into dead loops between app opening and app updating. Then it becomes a plastic trash and only fool Facebook people for 30 bucks

Hello, you clicked on the links when they were sold out so you saw the "3rd party" inflated pricing. Consider setting up an alert so you can be notified next time the deal is available and hopefully you can pick it up with the normal price. //@anonymous: Am I missing something? Apple's computer sale number has been declining month after month from their quarterly earning report. Loosing the market in very steady pace. Yet they keep feed us these 8GB ram machine costing you over 1K. I am in the market for a new laptop but I refuse to pay for such ridiculous specs. Why they never learn.
Anonymous
Yes, we all could. Like we could pay $10 gallon gas like everyone does in Europe. But that won't make you feel good. In fact, you feel frustrated. Same here. I could pay $2000 for a better specs Macbook. But it will make me feel being taken advantage of, being treated unfairly by Apple. That is why these 8GB machine is a joke and that is why Apple's computer sale is down hill. //@Anonymous: You can always pay more to get some extra, these are just base models for discounts //@Anonymous: a Pro model with only 8GB of RAM? Now, as you know, apple chips are not getting much better, partly because of lack of good engineers and the slow improvement over the 3/4nm node. So... getting M1 pro instead may be a better idea.
Anonymous
Previous gen M1 processors are a better value and should be more than sufficient for 70-80% of all users. If anything, Apple has bad marketing. No professional user is going to buy the MB with low specs, and no average user is going to spend $1.2K+ on it either. They should have significantly lowered the price, or not have an option with 8GB RAM/256GB storage.

Not entirely true. When you run out of ram, which is relatively easy to do with only 8gb,the computer is forced to use swap space which is basically your ssd drive. Swapping memory pages in and out of disk is slow. I'd much rather have a slightly slower cpu with more memory. //@anonymous: Ram doesn’t make the computers run faster. Your computer RAM is essentially short term memory where data is stored as the processor needs it. This isn't to be confused with long-term data that's stored on your hard drive, which stays there even when your computer is turned off.(info wouldn’t stay the your ram, the temporally memory pages are always on your SSD.) //@anonymous: Not entirely true.
