Buyer beware - I have a V8 Absolute and the battery went kaput within 1 year. Dyson charges $150 for replacement battery. There are chinese replacement batteries costing $25 to $50 but considered not reliable and long life is uncertain.

Dyson replaced the battery for me within 2 years of purchase //@Anonymous: Buyer beware - I have a V8 Absolute and the battery went kaput within 1 year. Dyson charges $150 for replacement battery.
