1)App compatibility issue, you have to use Rosetta2 for most software. 2)Unified memory architecture causes extremely excessive rewriting on SSD which is soldered and irreplaceable. //@sza: Don't be the beta testers. not really. Just use Rosetta for intel applications. The performance is not too shabby compared to newer intel CPUs.

Why don't you change the rules in western countries? //@anonymous: We were not allowed to use any calculator (even simple shopkeeper’s) in 9th-12th grade, we did PDE, curves by hand.
In Engineering, we’re allowed to use “scientific” calculator which could only do exponential (base x) calculations.
When I moved to Western country, I was shocked to find that there are calculators which can do curves, pde, matrix … still happy that I did by hand.

What are people talking about?
You can use those calculators for whatever you want, but you can't use those on tests. People know that if they want to pass the tests they need to learn the math.
You don't need the government to sanction and ban everything, you know? //@Anonymous: Why don't you change the rules in western countries? //@anonymous: We were not allowed to use any calculator (even simple shopkeeper’s) in 9th-12th grade, we did PDE, curves by hand.

Because this is the standard tool for high school/college math education. Each school district/university has invested tons of money to buy these calculators.
