AC is the current standard with most supported devices available out there. AX is not standard, just the trial transition from AC to AD, AX to AE. AE will be the next standard, coming at least next year. AE new supported devices will arrive, years after that. If your current wifi router is still working good, and meets your needs, no need to upgrade now.

Get tplink ac4000 or tp link ax6000 router and you wont need those at all.
My internet was slow and weak untill i got tplink ac4000. Super fast and strong signal.
