Be aware that Windows 11 is mandatory. Windows 10 is no longer supported. I switched to H&R Block this year after being a loyal customer for 10+ years.

Laptop docking station is a thing of the past. What you need now is a USB hub that supports USB C/3.0/charging and HDMI. There are so many of them in the $20-$50 range. This one is too bulky and extremely overpriced. That being said, it supports 5k video or up to three 4k video output. If you need that many UHD output, then this is for you. On the other hand, if you use three 4k monitors, you probably need a monstrous desktop, not a laptop.

I have 1 of these. It is basically a hub with different ports that connects to your laptop via a single USB-C cable. //@anonymous: Laptop docking station is a thing of the past. Just ignore. Guy thinks he understands tech but doesn’t appear to know who uses these. Not the same refresh rate nor charging output of a dongle. //@anonymous: I have 1 of these. This thing is a thing of the past (kinda) because many Monitors come with USB-c charging and display. Just connect keyboard and mouse to Monitor, then only thing you need is a high speed USB-C from monitor to laptop. Of course, if you need more USB to dongles and other things like LAN port, you still need a docking station.

Why would anyone still buy a monochrome laser for $250 nowadays? For just a little more you can get a color printer with ink tanks that last for years and cut down on the laser toner cartridges.

But it’s an inkjet. More expensive per copy than laser, heads/ink tubes that dry out, short life. My brother laser has been going strong since 2008!

Laser is far superior to ink, in all but initial cost. All the ink printers I've had (work or home) have a far shorter life and cost far more per print. Laser is more cost effective in the long run. Plus most people only need monocrhome most of the time.
Further, prices are up right now. Four years ago, I was buying HP Color MFP printers for $250-$300. //@jj0915: Why would anyone still buy a monochrome laser for $250 nowadays? before covid, I bought one 2550 (similar model) for $100

Even within the last year this has been at $200. And further back this cost $100. Will we ever see those low prices again, or is this inflation sticky? Any economists here who want to chime in and help me decide to buy or not?

Good deal, I bought it a year ago for $219

I can't believe it becomes so expensive. I got it for about $70 a few years back.

Great deal for people who prefer to pay the high inflationary price for b&w printers and monitors. Yes stick to rotary phones and cable TV :)
