does the legacy power output require coaxial DC input port on the laptop?

the picture that has a coaxial power cord is confusing, per the spec, the power output cord should come from the back panel, instead of that end.

Just keep in mind that Gateway basically means entry-level, meaning it has cheap components and will not last long.
