I bought one on 3/19/2020 from BestBuy and forgot about it. I needed one in July this year and it activated without problem. I also heard others are able to activated more than 45 days later. You cannot use the referral program if you buy one of these kits. If you have a family member or close friend with Mint, they can get a $60 renewal credit with the referral program on a new 10gb plan. This is like getting the plan for free excluding tax and fees. This only works if the family member intends to renew with Mint. I think the new member also gets $15 credit for renewal.

I tried calling Mint customer service from my phone where I have no problems at all and they could barely understand me. Regarding Customer service I had to ask the same questions three times because they did not understand what I was trying to ask and after all that I got hung up on.
