48GB ram and 512GB hard drive? Good job apple..

What's wrong with that? My MacBook always runs out of memory. I don't care much about storage. My own Mac mini has 64gb ram and 512gb SSD. //@dayajun: 48GB ram and 512GB hard drive? Good job apple..

you just happen to be one of the edge cases, most use cases are higher RAM comes with higher disk, that's it //@anonymous: What's wrong with that? My MacBook always runs out of memory. You compared your phone with car. You can easily drive your car for 10+ years. Can you do the same for your phone? //@anonymous: That's right. I don't feel my new phone is faster than my last. And I cannot drive my new car faster than my old car. Things are running about the same. It's not the reason for change. We spending because we want to stimulate the economy and our dopamine production. //@Anonymous: i got this one just a month ago, honestly, I don't feel it is running fast than my four year old macbook pro.

This is such a ridiculous remark. There were 4 channels in the previous 16 gb models (4gb*4). Now Apple wants to save money and started using 6 gb unit. So the 18 gb module only has 3 channels (6gb*3). The memory bandwidth is worse then M2 equivalent models. //@anonymous: Triple-channel ram. 3x6gb sticks = 18gb. Better than dual-channel. //@Anonymous: 18gb ram is odd //@anonymous: bh and bb(with membership) 1749

Comparing RAM number is like comparing gas tank size between a family care and a race car.

When M1 first came out, people reported it still runs smoothly with 400 safari windows open.

Crappy software will beat all the RAMs and CPUs you throw in

For the same amount of money, I can get a much better PC laptop.

Different cars have different gas tank size because they have different MPGs. But a full tank of gas will let you drive similar distances with different cars (excluding hybrids). RAM is completely different, more RAM is always better regardless what computer you have //@anonymous: Comparing RAM number is like comparing gas tank size between a family care and a race car.
