I was lucky to get one from BestBuy local store using price-match when Walmart was on sale and available. The price was $449 after price-match and there is 5% in-store Cashback from third party Cashback website, plus credit card has 10% back up to $25 offer (chase). Combined almost $100 off. If BestBuy store do not have inventory, you can pay local and they will ship to you.

they are selling it at this inflated price as you can then trade this in at apple and get a 1100 dollar credit. its all a bunch of financial games and bs that is going on right now. There's no protective film over the camera on Macbooks. The camera is simply terrible when compared to the selfie camera on a phone. After 25 years of disliking Apple due to their over-pricing, I gave in.
