a Pro model with only 8GB of RAM? Only Apple will do stuff like that to think one is getting a good deal.

You can always pay more to get some extra, these are just base models for discounts //@Anonymous: a Pro model with only 8GB of RAM? Only Apple will do stuff like that to think one is getting a good deal.

A laughable 8GB RAM. My 14 years old MacBook air has 8GB. My 12 years old PC has 16GB.

Apple can do 12gb, but it doesn’t want to add the memory. You know why.

Apple's computer sale number has been declining month after month from their quarterly earning report. Loosing the market in very steady pace. Yet they keep feed us these 8GB ram machine costing you over 1K. I am in the market for a new laptop but I refuse to pay for such ridiculous specs. Why they never learn.

Yes, we all could. Like we could pay $10 gallon gas like everyone does in Europe. But that won't make you feel good. In fact, you feel frustrated. Same here. I could pay $2000 for a better specs Macbook. But it will make me feel being taken advantage of, being treated unfairly by Apple. That is why these 8GB machine is a joke and that is why Apple's computer sale is down hill. //@Anonymous: You can always pay more to get some extra, these are just base models for discounts //@Anonymous: a Pro model with only 8GB of RAM? My Thinkpad 20 years ago had 16gb ram. Apple still price gouging consumers?

with this price, I think the M2 (24G +1T) is a better deal.
They both have 8Core CPU and 10Core GPU. Though the M3 might be a bit faster. I'd rather go with much larger memory and disk

can the memory be upgraded?

yes, the max RAM depends on CPU, not on manufacturer or model number. //@anonymous: can the memory be upgraded?

8fb ram kills the deal

it depends on the number of ram slots and whether it is onboard RAM. But for this model, it should be fine. //@Anonymous: yes, the max RAM depends on CPU, not on manufacturer or model number. //@anonymous: can the memory be upgraded?
