What is "45%NTSC"? I thought all monitors were "sRGB" or something? //@Anonymous: From the LENOVO Website: "14" WUXGA (1920 x 1200), IPS, Anti-Glare, Touch, 45%NTSC, 300 nits, 60Hz"

You can definitely ask for one. This actually is exactly what I use for work. The only thing preventing you from getting one is to lazy to set up a new machine. As for using your own machine for development, that’s not an option. At least in my eight years being a developer, I haven’t stayed in any company allowing me to do development work on my own machine. //@anonymous: But not every company refresh every year //@Anonymous: Who uses MBP for dev work does not have a company provided MBP? //@anonymous: for anyone using MBP for dev work, IMHO this is a good deal.
