Am I the only one feels these are expensive? Even for an adult?

Or maybe this much money I can build a real treehouse? I (my kids) love Legos but some of these sets are way too expensive. //@Anonymous: Am I the only one feels these are expensive? Even for an adult?

The price in walmart is $239

Yes, it has gotten more expensive but they continue to be popular. With the pandemic, more people are at home so this is something that they can do with their kids (or even for their own sanity). Supply and demand. Wishing for it to be cheaper wouldn't make a difference. //@Anonymous: no they are expensive =/ feel the price has gotten worse last few years too //@Anonymous: Or maybe this much money I can build a real treehouse? We own this set, and it is amazing in both construction and detail. Many LEGO sets cost around 10 cents per piece… this set is now around half that cost. Absolutely a deal.

Buying this kit to build tree house, worthless. Building this tree house with basic Lego pieces, priceless.

I would rather prefer the lego space shuttle, which is at the same price of the tree house.

it's a deal due to it being back up for order at retail price vs the inflated aftermarket prices since it's been OOS. //@Anonymous: why this pre-order is a deal?

Unless used, I don't think any retailer would offer for under $100. Maybe open box, missing box, instructions, and (or) pieces. //@Anonymous: Millennium Falcon is a good set to play. I have 2 but both were purchased below $100

Is it better to buy these "kits" or buy a bunch of assorted blocks and just build these on your own? It seems like Lego no longer encourages kids to just build from creativity and imagination. That is a shame. //@Anonymous: No deal at all, $32 for 273 pieces. Deal should be around $0.05 per Lego piece //@anonymous: deal?

At beginning I thought so.
Then I noticed most kids demolish the original set and build something else using those pieces. So it is same final effect, just fancier pieces. //@anonymous: Is it better to buy these "kits" or buy a bunch of assorted blocks and just build these on your own?
