Then I noticed most kids demolish the original set and build something else using those pieces. Yes, it has gotten more expensive but they continue to be popular. With the pandemic, more people are at home so this is something that they can do with their kids (or even for their own sanity). Supply and demand. We own this set, and it is amazing in both construction and detail. Many LEGO sets cost around 10 cents per piece… this set is now around half that cost. Absolutely a deal.
