The unlocked loophole has been patched by Verizon and Apple on July 18. All phones purchased thereafter can Only be used on Verizon Prepaid plan. Do not buy if you are not using Verizon Prepaid plan.

this phone is locked to verizon, even in its case it says either 1 year service on verizon or add $150 to unlock it. It won't work in other networks even in sprint I tried it didn't work. I returned it same day

By anonymous on 08/12/2017, 04:31pm
Why do you need to worry about iPhone since it is so low to you? Ch!nese government can put you in jail without a phone and without any reason! You are wasting money buying any phone! //@Anonymous: Google "Why Snowden refuse to use iPhone"

I purchased a couple of these from BestBuy. The first two worked well and were unlocked. Days ago I checked their IMEI numbers on the Verizon website and both showed they were ready for activation. Today the Verizon website says to contact Verizon customer service. I received two more today that have issues. Verizon's website won't verify that they're ready for activation on Verizon. Furthermore, the Best Buy invoice shows the IMEI number with additional numbers before it. Verizon customer service said that they weren't checked out properly. Back to BestBuy tomorrow.

By anonymous on 08/12/2017, 02:25pm
Verizon has caught this, phones activated after 07/18 are locked, if you activated it before 07/18, then it would remain unlocked

By anonymous on 08/12/2017, 02:03pm
anybody could make sure the phone is unlocked and can be used for T-Mobile prepaid plan?

I bought this and using on T-Mobile with data. It is unlocked for GSM services //@anonymous: you can not use it wtih the tmobile network //@anonymous: This phone is unlocked. I had ordered this few days ago and just got it delivered. I tried using H2O sim (ATT network) and it worked. For data, I had to request the H2O customer service people to send me the new setting, but that took just few mins.

Unlocked means it can be used on other carriers like ATT, TMO etc. This one is not. //@Anonymous: I bought it last week when they ran they same promotion. It is an unlocked cell phone. I went to Verizon store and got a new sim card. Everything works perfectly. No sure about GSM carriers but definitely unlocked for Verizon customers.

By anonymous on 07/14/2017, 04:51pm
that's not how you define "unlocked"...
you were just saying this is indeed a verizon phone. //@Anonymous: I bought it last week when they ran they same promotion. It is an unlocked cell phone. Got one a few days ago and it works with T-mobile sim, at least the voice part. I don't have data plan on that sim so didn't test that. As far as I know, RingPlus uses Sprint network so this phone won't work on Sprint, that's for sure.

I did for other gophone about 6 months back, seems like this is no longer true after reading some forums, sorry for inconvenience. //@Anonymous: //ISingh Did you try it successfully? If not, please don't mislead others. I got the $199 ATT iPhone SE prepaid goPone deal from bestbuy a few weeks ago. I requested to unlock it from ATT website but it was denied. Fortunately, I was able to return it at bestbuy without stocking fee charged. //@ISingh: Apple Iphone gophone AT&T is also available for $199 on bestbuy, which can easily be unlocked by going to at&t website to unlock prepaid phone.

By anonymous on 07/04/2017, 01:58pm
unlock code for iPhone? there is no such thing...iphone is unlocked through apple's server directly. thus you can call apple and see if a phone is unlocked or not.

By anonymous on 07/04/2017, 11:37am
In the past AT&T can unlock there gophones if you had not used it.Back then you could just use the IMEI number from the package to request unlock the phone by registering as a Non-AT&T user. Once you received unlock code, you then turn on the phone with another carrier's sim card insert. Enter the code when prompted. I had done this for at least 6 gophones. However, it seems recently AT&T changes, the last gophone I bought was no longer able to unlock.

For Verizon phones (contract or GSM), the GSM part, if it is in the phone, is unlocked to foreign GSM carriers, not US carriers. SO you are not able to use a US GSM carriers simcard in Verizon phones. Meanwhile, in order to use Verizon phone's GSM, you will need to switch to GSM prefered mode.

By anonymous on 07/04/2017, 11:31am
AT&T go phone can't be unlocked easily anymore...go with Verizon's. //@Anonymous: I also bought the AT&T iPhone SE go phone version from BB, but ended up returning because AT&T refused to unlock it.

It's not iPhone 6, it's iPhone 6S in the body of iPhone 5/5S. It has advantages and disadvantages over iPhone 6S but at $200 it's a freaking steal. I thought I got the best deal when I bought it for $280 last week...
