My order was cancelled last time becuase of depletion of inventory. Does it mean HP will give me one for the same price this time? I never saw any honest businessmen.

My order which was placed on 08/21 was finally getting processed. However, the credit card pending charge still includeds the costly shipping fee. Doesn't HP say they will offer free shipping? For those who received TP already, were you being charged for shipping? THX

By anonymous on 08/31/2011, 11:40 PM EDT
Its not for new customers. Its for the overflow of orders. They might put some for sale, but the chances are bleak. Don't count on it.

By anonymous on 08/31/2011, 11:11 PM EDT
Amazed to see so many people that have absolutely no idea about production and engineering making comments, you actually thinking HP is losing $100+ for each unit sold to gain market share? LOL. HP is simply clearing the parts inventory and they apparently have reached some kind of agreement with manufactures.

By anonymous on 08/31/2011, 10:29 PM EDT
It is obvious HP is taking more orders than they have in stock. I believe they are making these TPs right now to fullfil the orders. They lost profit on each unit, but they gained market share within two day's sale. You do the math who wins.

my shipping date HPSB has been changed to ONE week late, anyone has that issue? pls respond

By anonymous on 08/31/2011, 09:24 PM EDT
hopefully HP can make it with 99$

By anonymous on 08/31/2011, 09:09 PM EDT
Based on what you did, I think it's You that sucked. My impression on HP is good, it provides good customer service. They even decided to make more inventory to satisfy the extra. Please compare HP with BN, the conclusion should easily come out.

HP SUCK, i order on 22nd and they said it will be dilivered on 25th but still didnt get the tracking number. and also no compensation to make the order shipping late, i know its a good deal but unethical, they should give some more discount or some thing else to show applogy.

also HP should be prepared for this, BAD MANAGEMENT, I will cancel my 11 tablets order tomorow if i dont get the tracking number

By anonymous on 08/31/2011, 07:59 PM EDT
Not yet! JUST ORDERED 9.

By anonymous on 08/31/2011, 07:53 PM EDT
did anyone receive the HP tablet which was ordered before Aug 20?

By anonymous on 08/31/2011, 07:48 PM EDT
who cares, for $99 I got the same pad for doing almost everything like the much touted ipad. BS people all were wannabe buyers but got canceled, or ipad owners got ripped off so badly.

By anonymous on 08/31/2011, 07:04 PM EDT
i expect they are trying to empty out their parts supply chain of already-manufactured components too

HP's plot under the sun

By anonymous on 08/31/2011, 05:30 PM EDT
OS: Win8 or WebOS
Brand: LV or Hermes or Coach.
OEM: HTC and etc.

For example, HP provides WebOS, HTC makes hardware, and LV markets the product under its LV brand.

Could the combination beat iPad/iPhone/iOS?

For people like big luxury names, brands like LV could be more attractive than Apple (for the rich/upper class).

What's so good about android? webOS is supposed tone a much better system, only if the devs start make apps for it

By anonymous on 08/31/2011, 02:43 PM EDT
Why can't people hold their buying desires on Apple, that way we can force apple to lower the price.

hahaha sour grape. admit it that you want one so badly. so far so great for me, i saved $500. lack of apps? who cares if you can't play angry bird. go hp!!

Uh, you can play angry birds on webos.

Not that this is what HP is doing, but flooding the market with super cheap tablets is the smartest thing a tablet maker could do to beat apple. There's no reason to spend $600 on an iPad when you get better functionality from a netbook for half the price. People only buy the ipad for the apps and apple-cred. That won't change until there's a cheap alternative.

By anonymous on 08/31/2011, 02:19 PM EDT
Are there any Apple employees buying $99 HP TP?

Sure Apple employees are buying TP for $99.

By anonymous on 08/31/2011, 01:43 PM EDT
" plastic capacitors" LOL, do you even know what you are talking about?

By anonymous on 08/31/2011, 12:43 PM EDT
cheat me three times, shame on all.

By anonymous on 08/31/2011, 12:30 PM EDT
I understand they are using plastic capacitors to keep the cost down.

By anonymous on 08/31/2011, 12:21 PM EDT
Cheat me once, shame on you;
Cheat me twice, shame on me,

IPads and IPhone's are overly priced and knowing that why people are getting it? Its probably hype and show off.

By anonymous on 08/31/2011, 11:20 AM EDT
good news!!!! for those that still have lots of TP inventory, better get them out now, or NEVER!! HAHHAHHA

By anonymous on 08/31/2011, 11:08 AM EDT
HP's smart ads for TP, in fact, for WebOS' future!

By anonymous on 08/31/2011, 10:52 AM EDT
"One day Apple IPAD will sell for Apple's price.. $0.99 per LB"

I seriously doubt that more like $200.00 a pound!! which is what is it right now.

By anonymous on 08/31/2011, 10:13 AM EDT
Let me know when it is available again, DEALSEA!!! Thanks, dealsea.

By anonymous on 08/31/2011, 10:10 AM EDT
The WINOS is pretty good, but leak of app is the downside of it.

Don't know what's the price of it this time.

By anonymous on 08/31/2011, 10:03 AM EDT
unfortune that Hp is not going to make these anymore, funny how many suckers bought up thier inventory.

By anonymous on 08/31/2011, 10:02 AM EDT
I have used WebOS for a couple days, it is good compared to Android and IOS even though it lacks of app.

By anonymous on 08/31/2011, 09:26 AM EDT
Ordered one on the 21st. Called customer service to make sure order got through. After 40 minutes of wait, they confirmed my order but the shipping time is more than 3 weeks. Apparently, all the orders made after 4am 22nd august have been cancelled.

By anonymous on 08/31/2011, 09:23 AM EDT
One day Apple IPAD will sell for Apple's price.. $0.99 per LB.

By anonymous on 08/31/2011, 09:23 AM EDT
this is not a good news. think about what components hp will use to keep the cost down.

By anonymous on 08/31/2011, 09:08 AM EDT
Apple will not reduce the iPad prices by much maybe by 50 bucks at the most. Apple knows people are willing to pay alot of money for a their products. How many people have you seen on the streey with iPad vs some other brand tablet? case in point.

By anonymous on 08/31/2011, 09:08 AM EDT
I think thats right. if they put android and even if they raise the price by 50 bucs. It would still be Gold.

By anonymous on 08/31/2011, 09:04 AM EDT
lovin' it HP! note to HP, ditch webOS and put droid OS and you'll be in gold, taking away Apple's high price gizmo

By anonymous on 08/31/2011, 09:03 AM EDT
Are there any Apple employees buying $99 HP TP?

By anonymous on 08/31/2011, 08:56 AM EDT
good does that mean if we don't like $99 touchy, we can return it?

By anonymous on 08/31/2011, 08:48 AM EDT
It is a dirty trick HP played to grab market share in tablet arena. They have to give competitors, especially Apple, a legimate reason to significantly reduce their Touchpad price. Termination of their PC business would be a good one. Otherwise competitors like Apple will reduce their Tablet price as well, totally defeating HP's purpose to grab market share.

apple products are for rich or fashion people. Just like LV bags.

By anonymous on 08/31/2011, 08:39 AM EDT
What is the point of this story? i dont see link to said product.

By anonymous on 08/31/2011, 08:34 AM EDT
at least they can fullfill those backorders...

By anonymous on 08/31/2011, 08:34 AM EDT
I would NOT buy it if they are NOT $99 or $149!!!

By anonymous on 08/31/2011, 08:33 AM EDT
sounds great

By anonymous on 08/31/2011, 08:33 AM EDT
Looks like it is still profitable even at $99. Shame on ipad - it is totally overpriced!!!!!!!!

By anonymous on 08/31/2011, 08:32 AM EDT
mistake no. 2: to believe that the rapid sale of TP somehow has something to do with the market's recognition of TP. It's not going to sell unless HP sells at the fire-sale price, which it of course will not be able to.
