Because most of KN95 masks are substandard and they are no no difference from scarf. KN95 standard is good but the manufacturers didn't follow the standard //@Anonymous: Most us people just wear a cotton/fashion mask, some just use scarf/cloth to cover mouth. N95 and KN95 are far more effective than those, I don't understand why we are discuss the difference between N95 and KN95 here.

These are absolute garbage. Not a tight fit so the rating doesn’t matter. Literally worse than a regular disposable face mask. //@anonymous: I agree. I bought two of those masks for $7 each, and they are not good, specially if you have a smaller face. //@Anonymous: I am an essential worker and I had personally purchased these type of 'KN-95' masks due to supply shortage. These are pure crap. I have used actual N-95 masks made in USA. These ones are leaky, don't form proper seal around your mouth and nose.

FDA test found 69% China imported KN95 are substandard. Many fall far behind. //@anonymous: seems you don't have any knowledge about this. KN95 is Chinese standard for medical grade respirator, similar but not exactly the same as US N95 criteria. CDC recognizes and approves this standard so it can be used in US for medical purpose. This is not to say that the KN95 on the market (including the ones sold by Wyze) are indeed meeting such criteria. But the KN95 standard itself is good.
