Where I come from, we put some bricks on a table to play pingpong. Like 50c/brick at Home Depot.

Do you also play with a plain wood bat?

what about the brick dust and scratches to the table?

We play ping pong with paddles, not bats. And we don't play with expensive tables, so the scratches don't matter. (We are saving our money for Apple iPads, in case you're wondering why we don't buy better ping pong equipment.)

The table is made of concrete with brick on it.

A steel ping pong ball? What a luxury! Certainly not in my economy-oriented ping pong club.
