I tried to buy the $79 kindle, but got the following message when entered the code:
There was a problem
The promotional code you entered is for an offer that has not yet begun.

w/ Amazon Rewards Credit Card

I have the card, but still no use

I am calling Amazon.com for the code. I also got the same error message "The promotional code you entered is for an offer that has not yet begun."

The Amazon agent said that the offer will be available starting on August 1 until August 15.

Time to put all the Kindle garbages on FIRE because noone wants them anymore.

Spoke (CHAT) to amazon customer service for about an hour, and got them to apply $30 promotional credit for the $79 Kindle and got another $10 credit later (reported case), as apologies from Amazon ! Got the basic Kindle for $39 now :)

make sure that there is no space after KINDLE40. the code worked very well for me, just ordered one.

I bought 2 kindles ($79) and 2 lighted covers ($59) and paid a total of $178. Regularly $278. Pretty screaming good deal.

Amazon charges taxes in more states now. Like Texas.
