Hitachi 200GB 7200RPM 2.5" Notebook Hard Drive in External Enclosure $143

BestBuy has the Hitachi 200GB 7200 RPM 2.5" Notebook Hard Drive in External Enclosure for $143. You have to check the S/N # on the bottom of the enclosure and make sure it starts with DTG (a 7200 RPM drive). [PriceSearch]

Piece of crap

I would NOT RECOMEND Hitachi HDD. I had two and both crashed. Just stoped working with no reason (probably head drive issue).

What if it doesn't start with DTG? Can I ask best buy to find another one starting with DTG?

Go to Bestbuy stores, you will know if it is a 7200rpm drive by checking s/n number by yourself.

No, we don't make mistake this time, Sir. Before posting this kind of posts, we spent a lot of time on verifying the accuracy of the offer.

Of course its H2200U, thats the model of the product (model # of the enclosure)!

Before you return, make sure you open it to verify if your S/N starts with DTG, it is a 7200rpm drive inside the enclosure when the s/n starts with DTG.

This has been confirmed by many people.

check this link to see what drive others got.

http://img87.imageshack.us/img87/7443/dscf1342ue1.jpg

From the picture above, the drive is:
Model: HTS722020K9SA00 7200RPM
S/N DTGXXXX
And you can also see enclosure model # H2200U to the right on the enclosure box.

Hope this helps

People who complain should read this post:
http://www.fatwallet.com/t/74/770169

I picked mine a couple of weeks ago, and the enclosure contained 7200RPM hdd. I replaced my laptop's old 5400 hdd with the new 7200 hdd. This is a kind of "packaging mistake."

Under the enclosure, there's a sticker with printed serial number. Beneath the sticker, you'll find two screws. Remove the screws and gentely slide bottom part of the enclosure forward.
